What widths can TotalStat Oilers spray? Typical systems spray 12” to 144” wide. However, each system varies as they are designed to fit your specific process line.
What flow rates can be used in TotalStat systems? TotalStat oilers can be deliver very low flows of fluid, from a few cc’s or mg per sq/meter or much higher flows as required with multiple nozzle requirements.
Are TotalStat Fluid Coating Systems expensive? Modular systems typically pay for themselves within a year, while custom, automated spray systems may take longer depending on the extent of added features.
If my company is outside the United States, can I purchase a TotalStat system? Yes. TotalStat systems are used by several companies around the world.
Will you assist in installing my TotalStat Fluid Coating System? Because TotalStat systems are very mobile, you may not require assistance installing a unit. But if you do need help, one of our technicians is available to support you remotely or on site as necessary. A quotation will be provided for installation services upon request.
Do TotalStat oilers use PLCs? Some TotalStat sprayers may use PLC controllers, which accurately monitor and automatically control liquid flow rate, speed and adjustable widths. The controller allows precise spray cycle control and can also monitor external conditions like conveyor speed and external width control or coverage set points.
Can I vary the conveyor line speed or flow rates? Yes, the PLC can follow the line speed and vary flow rate as needed..
Do TotalStat Fluid Sprayers require compressed air? Most oilers do not use compressed air.
How much energy does a TotalStat system require? TotalStat oilers only require small amounts of amps at high voltage. Small pump motors help move the liquid, and no compressed air is needed.
How often do I have to clean a TotalStat Oiler, and what is the best method of doing so? As part of your preventive maintenance, you should clean the nozzles, inductor bars and supports at least once a week using contact clear or LPS. Disassembly is not necessary during the cleaning operation. Filters should be checked every six months.
Can the nozzles clog? If preventive maintenance cleaning is ignored, or improper cleaning materials are used, then electrostatic spray quality will deteriorate. High voltage power supplies may fail and high voltage support components may be damaged.
Is it dangerous to touch a nozzle or inductor bar while they are charged? TotalStat Oilers are non-lethal. However, these systems use 50 to 100,000 KV, and may give you an uncomfortable shock similar to a spark plug.
What do the different colors mean on the light stack? A steady green light indicates the oiler is spraying oil. A red light indicates that high voltage is present.
How do I order or return parts? Contact UAS Customer Service at 800-252-4647 to place an order directly. When returning parts, request a Return Materials Authorization (RMA) number from Customer Service. This number must be clearly marked and placed on the outside of the package(s) being returned. |
